Episode #4 - Bomma Country Podcast

15 September, 2024

During a recent discussion with Heath Paton and Councillor Namarca Corowa on their podcast, @bomma_country , Kayleigh Brewster, CEO of Chances House, highlighted some of the organisation’s key missions: to alleviate the trauma and suffering associated with homelessness, and to help people find pathways out of homelessness.

Fellow guest Vicki Corowa, Reconcile Life alongside Namarca, encapsulated this sentiment by stating, "One minute they could be walking fine, the next minute they're off a cliff; they didn't even see it coming."

Addressing homelessness necessitates a holistic approach to navigate its complexities and requires funding from various sources to capitalise on both tied and untied opportunities. Kayleigh also encourages people to lobby the state government to advocate for Mackay to have more public housing.
